Why a Lifestyle Store?

Fifteen years ago, yes, way before goop helped people popularize the term, we were creating a home for creatives to be found. We saw so many amazing artisans artists & designers in a conundrum: either they worked all day at selling their wares, and had no time or energy to create, OR they created and followed their passion, but were perpetually unseen and broke. These amazing people needed someone to run the hard brick and mortar pieces of their businesses, to allow them the time, flexibility & freedon to be amazing at what they do

What makes us Your Lifestyle Store?

We were born here and we love the uniqueness of where we live, from the mountains to the makers, to the seasons & sea, So to showcase that love we carry everything you might need when setting up or updating your dream life in our beautiful backyard of Portland. We curate our 54 small local business showrooms to offer you 54 unique and fabulous takes on what makes a home here, a locally published & local author book store, to hand hewn wood works made from local trees, to our fine art gallery of historic and contemporary Northwest artists. Each object is a testament to the skill and creativity of the artisans who lovingly source or craft them just for you, locally, here in Portland, Oregon

Inside and out We Are Portland, even a decade ago, our building art sparked the first of the Northwest mural projects by valuing, elevating and showcasing local artists who worked beyond the canvas like: Mike Bennet, Alicia Schultz, Ashley Dreyfus & EyeDrawp. We continue that innovative community based thinking in all we do today with our original hands-on making market events, our feature classes, and many other curated creator events.

Our Urban Eye Gallery space serves as a platform for established and emerging NW artists to showcase their unique aesthetic, from curated vintage works to large scale murals, to interactive tactile design pieces. We feel fine art galleries are not merely places to showcase art; they are cultural epicenters that foster a profound appreciation for the beauty and depth of artistic endeavors, by evoking thoughtful, exciting dialogues and reflections on the human experience.

We hope to give a fresh take on fine art galleries by removing the stuffiness and celebrating the joy of artistic expression. Here the walls unfold stories of creativity and inspiration, and community connectivity is deepened. Stepping into our fine art gallery is stepping into a realm where the boundaries of imagination and reality merge effortlessly. Each brushstroke, sculpture, or photograph we showcase, holds a captivating narrative, inviting our guests to immerse themselves in a world of unique aesthetics, emotion and understanding of the world in a new way.

Bring your project or products to life in our Two Giant 5,000 sq ft Photo Studios’ hidden upstairs at Urbanite,

Our industrial Photo Studio is the raw and wonderful 5,000 sq feet that it has always been since our building was first used as a car repair shop. Floor to ceiling windows, 14 foot strong beam ceilings and the best northern lighting of any photographer or film company’s dream. Outside the windows the tops of trees provide a curtain against the city skyscape, or shoot urban looks near windows that overlook the Morrison bridge

Our all-white studio is another 5,000 sq feet of inspiring space in which to play. With 14ft ceilings, it has more original floor to ceiling industrial windows with fully white ceiling and walls, creating the modern look blank canvas for all your creative vision to come to life. Color pops and neutrals shine in thi glorious hidden haven.

.Looking for a stunning event space to rent for your next gathering? Look no further than the Urbanite event loft.. Our breathtaking industrial venue offers an historic, light -filled, space that has been updated to create a modern elegant atmosphere ideal for events from weddings and corporate functions, to private parties. The spacious layout, and stylish decor provide a versatile canvas for creating the event of your dreams. Antique train station benches, historic portland pews, a chic corner bar with a deconstructed canoe chandelier, all add to the uniqueness of the events that can be created here.

Our store stays open during every event just for your private enjoyment, and your dedicated event host is committed to ensuring your event runs smoothly start to finish. Additionally our electrical has just been upgraded to provide clear full spectrum overhead light, or the gentle light of festooned event strands, with loads of additional outlets to allow for your customized lighting and decor concepts to come to life.

There's something undeniably enchanting about the lively atmosphere of outdoor markets. As you step into our event lot on market days a bustling kaleidoscope of vibrant small and maker businesses embrace you, reminding you that we are all connected, and together in this story.

Our markets have been the standard for elevating small, local, hand-built & handcrafted goods, and for showcasing the new and the vibrant in pdx for nearly a decade.

We were the first home for many of the biggest markets in Pdx, and we created the only market active through covid by staying compliant and healthy, so our vendors were able to continue to connect with our community and still make a living throughout the closures - safely.. Our markets have become a welcome local hub of cultural exchange, bustling with lively conversation and laughter for years

We feature fresh local food purveyors, and over 40 local makers and vendors who share their newest creations for you every month from May through October.

From vibrant textiles, to wood working, to intricately designed jewellery. As you wander through our events, you encounter a treasure trove of local and handmade items curated to pique your happiness, and you’ll find yourself engaged in conversations with makers and neighbors alike,, learning about technique, their craft, art, or even recipes

Amongst the array of engaging products and the warm camaraderie, our outdoor markets transcend mere commerce, they have becomes a celebration of community, and an embodiment of the vibrant spirit of Local.

CONSIGNING

CONSIGNMENT IS EASY

Why Consignment?

Consignment offers a win-win situation for both the seller and the buyer. Sellers can declutter their living spaces while making some extra cash, while our store can feature a wider range of fun finds for our customers. Additionally, consignment is an environmentally-friendly option that promotes sustainability by giving items a second life.

What Can I Consign?

Virtually anything can be consigned, for our intake, uniqueness and condition are the overlying quality we look for. Furniture, antiques, and even artwork are just some of the items frequently consigned here. The key is to ensure that your items are clean, functional, and appealing to potential buyers by their quality and specialness

How Does Consignment Work?

When you consign an item, you bring it to us to sell on your behalf. The store will advise on pricing but the final say will be uo to you. We will incorporate your piece in our displays and social media to try to facilitate its rehoming as soon as possible. You call us at the one month mark, if your item has not sold you are welcome to either reduce the price or pick it up, again, your choice.

Once the item sells, the store takes a percentage of the final selling price as commission, and you receive the remaining amount. Our store pays 60% of the selling price to the consignor, the highest percent in town.

TO CONSIGN

Send us photographs: We intake Only what we have approved, so please send detailed photos of your items to office@urbanitepdx.com OR, DM us photos in Instagram @UrbanitePdx , then keep a weather eye out for the thumbs up with your intake appt date

Please be Patient: We get over 100 inquiries a month and we review new inquiries as quickly as we are able.

Prepare Your Item: When you bring your items in please be sure they are Clean, smell free, and in excellent repair, Present your items in a way that will appeal to potential buyers. The better your items look, the more likely they are to sell quickly.

Set a Date: Keep track of your consigned items by maintaining a record of what you’ve consigned, and if your month on the floor is coming to an end.

Be Realistic: Understand the current market value of your items and be realistic about pricing. Items priced too high are less likely to sell

PROPS: In addition to our film locations, we also boast an impressive 25,000 ft store as a prop shop. Anything you see from the minute you walk in the doors of our fully loaded lifestyle store, can be rented for any production at any time. Whether you need vintage furniture, plants, period-specific decor, or futuristic gadgets, our shop has everything you need to add authenticity and depth to your film.
